Good job guys, waiting for the upgrade option =)

Alex Cohn

With support for downloading the binary log, can you now set up a replication slave as well, or is that still unavailable?

Joel Natividad

Out of curiosity, I went into MODIFY INSTANCE on my existing 5.5.31 RDS instance and it seems to me that I can upgrade to 5.6.12 from there as I can choose 5.6.12 from the Engine Version dropdown!

Is it now safe to upgrade my 5.5.31 db to 5.6.12?

soenke

Yeah - It's now possible to replicate to external mysql slaves from RDS: http://www.ruempler.eu/2013/07/07/replicating-aws-rds-mysql-databases-to-external-slaves/
