When will there be a micro instance with guaranteed CPU?

Andrew Leonard

I'm excited to use the new instance type, and looking forward to them being in other regions as well (especially us-west-2) - and I'm just as excited about the CC1 price drop. However, I'd ask you to consider making instances with even more memory available - the researchers I support can't parallelize their jobs across multiple nodes, and tell me that they would be constrained even with 60GB of RAM.

One question: Can you mix CC1 and CC2 nodes in a Placement Group? The text above makes it sound like it might not be possible.

Chris Bushell

I would be interested to know what the size of the cluster ranked at #42 on the Linpack benchmark was i.e. how many CC2 instances?

@ Chris Bushell: "This result was obtained using a cluster of 1064 instances"
