I woke up today and realized that today is the 5th anniversary of launch of Amazon EC2. I published the initial announcement in the summer of 2006 while on vacation with my family.
We (the AWS Marketing Team) have put together an interactive infographic to highlight some of the more significant changes and improvements that we've made to EC2 over the past five years. You can click on the items in the dark blue center column to learn more.
We've come a long way, but from what I can tell we are still getting warmed up and the best is yet to come.

PS - We are hiring for a number of great positions. If you would like to join the team, check out the complete list of AWS jobs.

Happy 5th anniversary! We wouldn't be where we are today without AWS :) http://aws.amazon.com/solutions/case-studies/raven/

Wow! how did the 5 years pass so quick. Amazon Web Services have been really good. Okay there were some problems at one stage when the sites went down, but all is well now. I am looking forward to the next five years.
