I appreciate what Mturk is trying to do with the Masters Qualifications, but I think it has been implemented poorly. It is a a mistake to conclude that those holding Masters Qualifications are superior to those who don't hold them, since no one, outside of Mechanical Turk, knows how they are handed out. Workers who get the qual can't even figure out why they got it.

If there was a clear, published structure, it would give workers something to aspire to rather than something to resent. As it stands, outstanding workers without the qualification are discriminated against. Also, requesters often add these qualifications to the wrong HITs, alienating many competent workers.

I'd like to see a change to the way these get handed out or at least transparency of the process.
